Spacefleet Online is a community-based organization. What that means is that the people in charge of the games and the organization as a whole, have been and still are active players in SFOL SIMulations.
SENIOR STAFF
The Senior Staff Members of SFOL are called the Administration. The Administration makes all of the final decisions on policy and advanced promotions (such as those from Commander to Captain), as well as create advertising campaigns for the organization, help with recruiting, solve disputes between Game Masters and players (see the "Game Masters" section below), and are active in at least one SIMulation.
The current Administration consists of:

GAME MASTERS
Each SIMulation has at least one "Game Master" (a.k.a. "GM"). A Game Master is a member of SFOL who has been in the group for at least six months, has a good attendance record, understands the rules of Spacefleet Online and America Online's Terms of Service (a.k.a. "TOS"), and has demonstrated good leadership skills.
If you have any questions about a particular SIMulation, contact one of the Game Masters via E-Mail or Instant Message. They'll be happy to assist you.
A Game Master's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Helping to develop new plots for the SIMulations they play in
- Upholding and enforcing SFOL's and AOL's rules and regulations
- Solving issues that may arise between players
- Protecting the players from defamation and other online threats
- Promoting players
- Assigning responsibilities to players
- Recruiting
- Maintaining the smooth operation of their SIMulations
